Enter and View: Amber House

We visited Amber House nursing home to ensure that people who may be vulnerable and less able to raise their voices have the opportunity to speak to Healthwatch, and to look at how the residents' physical health needs are supported

We collected our information by speaking to the Manager, five residents, and four members of staff.

Our recommendations

1. Locks should be installed on communal toilets/bathrooms, which can be opened by staff from the outside if necessary.

2. We were impressed to see so many examples of dementia friendly tools and features but some were not being utilised effectively. Changing the location of these items may help
