Our Mission

Healthwatch Coventry is the independent champion for health and social care services in Coventry listening to local communities, patients, users of care services and carers; and representing patients and service users interests and views.

Healthwatch Coventry actively works to listen and reach out to communities to influence the delivery and planning of local services to ensure that local people have a voice and services are made better.

Healthwatch supports local people to understand and enact their rights and responsibilities in health and care and to enable them to raise issues with individual treatment or care

Our Values

Independent:

Healthwatch Coventry is an independent network of local people and groups. It sets a work programme, investigates issues and uses its powers to hold services to account.

Inclusive:

Healthwatch Coventry will actively find ways to engage with and encourage participation from all individuals, groups and communities across Coventry and welcome and value the participation of diverse people.

Listening:

Healthwatch Coventry will listen to and reflect people’s views and experiences of local services and represent them without personal agendas holding sway.

Rigorous:

Healthwatch Coventry will be thorough in the work that it does and strive to undertake high quality work that is well researched and executed.

Open and accountable:

Healthwatch Coventry will ensure accountability to its membership and the wider community and will carry out its work in a transparent way, with clear decision making processes.

Constructive:

Healthwatch Coventry will work in partnership with existing groups and networks to achieve objectives. It will be a critical friend to service providers and commissioners, working collaboratively and impartially, pointing out what is working and what needs improving.

Trustworthy:

Healthwatch will provide expertise and good quality, trustworthy information and advocacy support to people who use its information and ICAS services.

Enabling:

Healthwatch will work to support people to develop knowledge and confidence in taking forward issues and concerns about services and seeking their rights in NHS and care systems.
