Celebrating our Volunteers

I found myself looking for a constructive way to stay active and give back
""

A few years ago, I underwent a heart operation. During a slow recovery, I found myself looking for a constructive way to stay active and give back. Throughout my career in support work, I’d helped many children and adults with various needs get to their medical appointments, so I knew the system well from a professional angle. But becoming a patient myself truly opened my eyes. It gave me a full, 360-degree view of the NHS, showing me firsthand what works well and what needs to change.

I joined Healthwatch Coventry to use that combined experience for good. I want to help listen to our community, challenge the status quo, and make sure the NHS experience is the best it can possibly be for patients, visitors, and our incredible medical teams.

As a volunteer, I enjoy working with those I work with in Healthwatch Coventry. We are a great team, and I hope Healthwatch Coventry can continue supporting the people in Coventry for many more years.
