Healthwatch Coventry has been campaigning for better non emergency patient transport for kidney dialysis and other patients in Coventry. This is the service which takes people, who meet certain criteria, to and from hospital appointments and treatment.
In late 2015 and early 2016 we carried out two patient surveys to gather feedback from people who use the non emergency patient transport service

What we achieved:
- transport for dialysis patients was given separate criteria and targets setting out much stronger quality criteria
- the profile of the issue was raised
- a tender for a new service was finally carried out
- The new contract has been awarded to West Midlands Ambulance Service (from 1 April 2015).
